Our SOMEMO (SOcial MEdia MObile Manager) Matheus Corbelini explains how to get to Cascais and Sintra, the most charming villages near Lisbon, from the Pestana CR7 Lisboa Hotel.

There is a place in Cascais that is a must for Instagrammers and romantic Sintra looks like a fairy tale, says Matheus. Check out why.

Cascais is a famous charming beach town which is only 40 minutes away by train which runs along the water making it for a really amusing ride. The departure is from Cais do Sodré station, only a 5 to 10-minute walk from the hotel. Cascais is the last stop, so you can’t miss it!

The ticket should be about €2,25.

Once in Cascais, I recommend you go for a walk in the old town and enjoy the terraces and the quaint atmosphere. If you’re an Instagrammer, the “Hell’s mouth” (Boca do Inferno) it’s a must-see. This is an incredible spot where the ocean waves hit the deep bottom of a gorge. It makes for an amazing experience!

After that, you can head over to Sintra, 20km north. From Cascais, you must take the bus 417, which will leave you in the Sintra’s center and takes approximately 30 minutes.

You can catch the bus at Cascais Bus Terminal (address: Costa Pinto Avenue, 74, Cascais) and hop off at the last stop, Rua Alfredo Costa (Sintra).

The ticket should be about €3.

Sintra looks like a fairy tale! Once you’re there, I recommend you simply have a deep breath, enjoy the breeze and explore its castles, museums and magical views. That’s what I do when in Sintra. I truly love to go there, it’s so romantic!
